This end is bit bittersweet! Years has been in my mind head for so long. But I was so ready to end it. When I was writing So We Meet I created a backstory for AU!Lucely in my head where I knew two things:
a.) Luce helped Haley run from an abusive relationship with Maxwell in the early 90s.b.) A social media event about Haley's past in porn caused them to move across country in 2020.
When I decided to write it, I just didn't know how to bridge that gap between the event in the 90s and the social media event in 2020. So I decided to go all in and write every year from A to B. This serial got embarrassingly long. Like, longer than UL long.
I do have an Extended Epilogue that I'm dabbling with (update: it's 6,000 words ???). It's basically some short scenes of the Haley-Graces and Clarks clashing ? It'll also wrap up some of the loose threads in this serial.
Seasoned writers always talk about how when they start a new book they can't conceive how they ever did it before. That's how I feel about serials. I don't see myself writing anymore serials but I'm all in for short stories and maybe novellas. Just waiting for a new story to strike. (update: I drafted a short story about a 20-year-old Nova ????)
I may do some TDOSH's in the future but I don't have much else to say about this serial.
